Sterling Bank Plc has proposed a strategic partnership with the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, for the development of a 444-bed capacity student hostel to support the University’s growing accommodation needs.
The proposal was presented during a strategic visit by a delegation from Sterling Bank to the University. The banking team was led by the Regional Education Portfolio Manager, Abuja and North Central, Ruth Ailiya, and was received by the management team of AAAU, led by the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, Ph.D.
Discussions at the meeting emphasised the banks willingness to provide full financial backing for the execution of the student’s accommodation infrastructure through a proposed public-private partnership arrangement.
The proposed hostel development comes at a significant time in the growth and expansion of AAAU, as the University continues to attract increasing numbers of students and requires additional accommodation facilities to meet emerging needs.
The initiative is welcomed by the institution as it is expected to further strengthen collaboration between AAAU and the private sector while supporting the University’s infrastructure development and long-term growth objectives.
