The National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) paid a courtesy and familiarisation visit to the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen engagement, foster mutual understanding and explore areas of collaboration within the aviation sector.
The delegation, led by Comrade Ahmed Abdullahi Yusuf, WPA, Chairman, State Council, NUATE, included Comrade Dauda Nanbol, National Vice Chairman, NUATE, and other members of the union’s executive council.
The team was warmly received by the Acting Vice-Chancellor of AAAU, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, Ph.D, FInstTA, FCMI, alongside members of the University Management and staff.
During the visit, the Acting Vice-Chancellor gave the delegation a brief overview of the University’s journey, from its establishment to its current stage of development at its permanent site. He highlighted the University’s academic programmes, professional training opportunities and other courses, noting their potential to contribute meaningfully to capacity development in aviation and related sectors.
The Vice-Chancellor also commended NUATE for the visit and expressed the University’s readiness to maintain an open and constructive relationship with the union. He emphasised the importance of partnerships that can support the advancement, sustainability and continuous development of AAAU, while creating opportunities for mutually beneficial programmes and initiatives.
The familiarisation visit concluded on a cordial note, with both sides expressing optimism about deepening engagement and exploring further areas of collaboration for the advancement of aviation education and the wider industry.
