The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja welcomed officials of the Federal Ministry of Environment for an inspection of the proposed site for the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Solar Farm Project.

The visit provided an opportunity for the officials to gain first-hand knowledge of the site and assess its environmental conditions ahead of the proposed development. The AAAU team from the Directorate of Physical Planning and Works (DPPW) accompanied the officials throughout the inspection.

The team examined key features of the site, including its vegetation, drainage patterns, surrounding land use and other environmental factors that may be affected by the project.

Discussions also focused on practical measures to protect the environment and ensure that appropriate safeguards are maintained throughout the planning, construction and operation of the solar farm.

The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment to responsible project development, environmental protection and compliance with relevant environmental standards.
