Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi is an esteemed figure in the realms of international relations, education, and sustainable development. His leadership qualities, coupled with his expertise in diplomacy and management, have positioned him as a prominent advocate for education and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi was born and raised in Zaria, Nigeria, where he completed his primary and secondary education. Recognizing his passion for international affairs, he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria. Abdullahi’s exceptional academic performance and dedication to his field propelled him to pursue further studies, culminating in a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from ABU Zaria.
Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Abdullahi obtained an MSc in Management and International Business from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom. He further expanded his expertise by acquiring a certificate in Sustainability from the same institution. Additionally, he earned a Level 7 Diploma in Leadership and Strategic Management from the Chartered Management Institute in London. Abdullahi’s commitment to intellectual growth led him to pursue a Master of Philosophy from Nasarawa State University, to solidify his expertise in research and academia,
he is currently a PhD candidate at Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja.
Abdullahi’s professional journey began as an Administrative Assistant at True Love Lettings in Nottingham, where he gained valuable experience in organizational management and customer service. Eager to contribute to his home country, he returned to Nigeria to serve as the Technical Assistant at the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs). In this role, Abdullahi actively contributed to the implementation and monitoring of sustainable development projects in Nigeria, aligning national efforts with global sustainability agendas.
Expanding his professional horizons, Abdullahi joined the National Metallurgical Development Centre (NMDC) in Jos, as a senior administrative staff member. There, he furthered his expertise in administration, research and coordination, honing his skills in strategic planning and leadership. In 2017, he joined the esteemed Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, as a staff member, dedicating himself to nurturing young minds and imparting knowledge in the field of international relations.
In 2020, recognizing Abdullahi’s exceptional leadership qualities and administrative acumen when he served as the Secretary to the steering committee on the establishment of Ahman Pategi University in Kwara State. Upon its establishment, he was appointed as the pioneer Registrar of the University. In this role, he played a pivotal role in establishing effective administrative systems and ensuring the smooth functioning of the University through building a 21st century university administrative framework that ensures effective governance, and setting the stage for academic excellence.
In 2022, Abdullahi’s pioneering continued when he was appointed by the Federal Ministry of Aviation to serve as the pioneer Registrar of the newly established African Aviation and Aerospace University in Abuja, capitalizing on his zeal, commitment, experience and expertise to shape the University’s vision as a 21st century learning institution and establish it as a leading institution in the field of Aviation, Aerospace and Environmental Science of international repute.
As a committed scholar, Abdullahi has authored numerous research papers and publications, addressing critical issues in international relations, sustainable development, and educational management in Nigeria as well as in Austria, Turkey and United Kingdom. His insights and recommendations have contributed to the academic discourse and influenced policy decisions.
Outside his professional endeavors, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi finds solace and joy in his family life. He is happily married and cherishes the love and support of his spouse and children, who inspire and motivate him to excel in his pursuits.
