African Centre for Climate Change and Aviation Decarbonization (ACCCAD)
Welcome message from the Head of Centre
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the African Centre for Climate Change and Aviation Decarbonization (ACCCAD). As Africa’s first dedicated Centre of Excellence for climate-smart aviation, ACCCAD is committed to advancing research, capacity building, policy engagement and technology incubation that will accelerate the continent’s transition to a sustainable and resilient air transport sector.
ACCCAD is hosted at the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, and has been established to bridge the growing gap between aviation growth and climate responsibility. Our work focuses on solutions that are both technically robust and locally appropriate — supporting Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), green airport infrastructure, climate risk assessment and market-based mechanisms that enable African states to meet ICAO, UNFCCC and CORSIA obligations.
Dr. S. A. Chado
