On December 20, 2025, the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) announced the appointment of Associate Professor Ayodele Gatta as the new Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
Prior to his new role, Dr. Gatta served as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Aviation Business at AAAU, where he demonstrated exceptional academic expertise.
His teaching experience extends to several prestigious institutions, including the Faculty of Law at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, and Edo State University, Uzairue, where he imparted knowledge in various law courses.
Dr. Gatta holds multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in Aviation Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, distinguishing him as the first individual to earn a Doctorate in Aviation Law from a Nigerian university. He also possesses an LL.M., M.Phil., and LL.B. Additionally, Dr. Gatta has earned a B.A. and M.A. in English and Literature, as well as an M.Sc. in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Ibadan. His diverse academic background underscores his commitment to scholarship and research.
In his personal life, Dr. Gatta enjoys reading biographies and traveling. He is married and blessed with children
