The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kebal Krystal Works Ltd (KKL) for the development of a hotel resort project at the University, following a series of engagements and discussions between both parties.

Kebal Krystal Works Ltd is a Nigerian-registered company with experience in government and private-sector contracting, project execution and operational management. The KKL team, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Sahabo Bawuro, joined the University Management to formally conclude discussions and sign the agreement, which outlines the responsibilities, expectations and commitments of both parties towards the successful delivery of the project.

As part of the engagement, both parties reviewed key aspects of the proposed development, including feasibility considerations, expected return on investment, projected revenue inflows and the long-term sustainability of the project. The discussions emphasised the need to ensure that the investment is viable and capable of delivering lasting value to the University.

The KKL team also presented its vision for the proposed hotel resort, outlining plans for a facility designed to provide quality, functionality and lasting value to its users. In response, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, Ph.D., emphasised the importance of integrity and sustainability as guiding principles throughout the development and implementation of the project.

Following the presentation and discussions, AAAU granted KKL access to the designated site to enable the company to commence the necessary preliminary planning, assessment and evaluation of the available space in line with the agreed project requirements. The preliminary stage of the project is expected to take approximately six months.

During this phase, KKL is expected to maintain regular oversight of activities on site, with its representatives scheduled to be present at least twice a week to monitor progress and ensure that the development remains aligned with the agreed plans and standards.

The signing of the MoU marks the commencement of the next phase of the proposed hotel resort project, as both parties move from discussions and planning towards preliminary assessment and development.
