NCAA Pays Courtesy Visit to AAAU, Strengthens Collaboration for Aviation Excellence

The Acting Vice Chancellor, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, Ph.D., acmi, FinsTA, alongside the Director of the Professional Training Programme, Aliyu M. Tata, Ph.D., and the Acting Head of Department, Aviation Business, Henry Chuba, Ph.D., received the Director of Human Resources and Administration of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr. Anastasia Gbem, and her delegation on an official visit to the University’s permanent site on April 30, 2026.

The visit was aimed at strengthening and advancing the existing partnership between AAAU and the NCAA, reinforcing their shared commitment to the development of aviation education and capacity building in Nigeria and beyond.

In his welcome address, the Acting Vice Chancellor provided an overview of the University’s progress, highlighting its notable achievements and ongoing projects, despite being less than four years since the commencement of academic activities.

In her remarks, Dr. Gbem expressed admiration for the University’s impressive growth and commended the leadership and staff for their dedication and commitment to positioning AAAU as a leading institution in aviation education, both within Africa and globally. She also reaffirmed her support for initiatives aimed at deepening collaboration, particularly efforts to establish a partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that would enable the University to host ICAO-certified trainings in Nigeria. Additionally, she pledged support for the Next Generation of Aviation Programme hosted annually by the University.

The Acting Vice Chancellor further led the delegation on a guided tour of key facilities, including the Festus Keyamo Multipurpose Hall and the Aviation Business Faculty building.

The visit concluded with Dr. Gbem reiterating her admiration for the remarkable transformation of the University from concept to reality. She expressed appreciation for the warm reception and assured the University of her Directorate’s continued support towards its sustained growth and development.
