The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja has recorded a remarkable milestone at the prestigious Nigerian Aviation(NIGAV) Awards 2026, clinching top honours in recognition of its growing impact on aviation education and training in Nigeria.

At the 15th edition of the awards which took place on the 17th of April, 2026 at the NIGAV event center, Ikeja, Lagos, AAAU was honoured with the“Most Promising Aviation Training Institution” award, in recognition of its rapid growth, innovation, and commitment to developing world-class aviation professionals.

In the same vein, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi,acmi, received the “Aviation Academic Excellence Award,” acknowledging his outstanding leadership and contributions to advancing academic standards within the aviation sector.

In a notable highlight of the event, the Governing Council and Management of AAAU announced the award of full postgraduate scholarships to the winners of the King and Queen of the Air 2026.

The scholarships, which will cover MSc programmes at the institution, reflect AAAU’s strategic commitment to empowering the next generation of aviation professionals.
